— Spends more than 30 years in the newspaper business as a writer, editor and, to some, a general pain in the … Also works as a freelance writer for a couple of magazines and spends a decade as a correspondent for Baseball America.

— Spends most of those 30-plus years in newspapers writing about sports with the overwhelming majority of that time writing about baseball.

— Wins some writing awards along the way (sidenote: hang around the newspaper racket long enough, stumble onto a couple of decent stories along the way and you are bound to win an award or two).

— Authors four books on Harrisburg’s rich baseball history. Books sell well, thanks. Still feel a tad guilty for killing all of those trees in order to write them.
