Darn those Sox

Today marks the 66th anniversary of Jim Bunning's no-hitter at Boston's Fenway Park, where the Detroit Tigers' right-hander beats the Red Sox 3-0 in the first game of a doubleheader split before a Sunday afternoon crowd of 29,529.

The 1958 no-hitter is the first of two in Bunning's Hall of Fame career with the other coming as a member of the Philadelphia Phillies against the New York Mets 6-0, also in the first game of a doubleheader on Father's Day 1964.

That one is a perfect game against the not-so-perfect Mets at Shea Stadium.
