Gramps goes yard
In his first at-bat after becoming a grandfather, Hall of Famer Stan Musial – two months shy of his 44th birthday – homers to jump start the Cardinals' 8-0 victory over the Chicago Cubs 60 years ago today in St. Louis.
The two-run homer in the first inning off Glenn Hobbie is the 474th in Musial’s career.
His final homer comes six days later off the Dodgers' Johnny Podres in the Cardinals' 3-1 loss, also in St. Louis.
