Hello, my name is …

One of the Jeffs trading places … in this case, Jeff King

In the only trade in baseball history involving so many players named Jeff, the Pittsburgh Pirates send third baseman Jeff King to the Kansas City Royals 27 years ago today for pitchers Jeff Granger, Jeff Martin and Jeff Wallace.

The Pirates also throw in shortstop Jay Bell, apparently wanting to get another “J” off of their roster.

The Royals do the same, dispatching third baseman Joe Randa to the Pirates in the same trade.
