He’s back …
Ten days after a postgame meltdown in which he blasts the team’s fans, the local media and most things Harrisburg in abruptly announcing his resignation, Doug Sisson contritely returns as he Senators’ manager 24 years ago today.
After being rehired by the Montreal Expos to manage their prized Class AA team – but not first without being told to apologize to everybody he verbally incinerates on his way out of town – Sisson leads the Senators to 32 victories in the final 51 games to reach the 1999 Eastern League playoffs.
He then navigates the Senators through one of the most exciting postseasons on any level for their fourth straight EL title.
