Barry Bonds launches career homer No. 756 off Washington’s Mike Bacsik Jr. 16 years ago tonight in San Francisco.
The homer moves Bonds pass Hank Aaron atop the all-time home run list.
Bonds doubles and singles off Bacsik before homering off the Nationals’ left-hander in the fifth inning.
Bonds – seen here in an Associated Press photo hitting No. 756 – previously is 0-for-2 lifetime against Bacsik.
As it turns out, Bacsik’s father faces Aaron in just one game during in his own career – three days after Aaron’s 755th and final homer in 1976 – and holds Aaron to one single in two at-bats against him.
