The first Mid-Atlantic Scouts Association Invitational Showcase is held 24 years ago today on Harrisburg’s City Island. Among the participants is David Wright, a 16-year-old infielder from Chesapeake, Va., who eventually becomes a seven-time, All-Star third baseman with the New York Mets.
