A Blue moment in St. Louis

On the day after the funeral for Stan Musial in 2013, the St. Louis Blues honor the late, great Cardinals Hall of Famer 11 years ago tonight by wearing Musial’s No. 6 on their jerseys during warmups before playing at home against the Minnesota Wild.

The Blues win in overtime 5-4.

St. Louis defenseman Wade Redden scores the game’s first goal.

Redden’s sweater number? Of course, that would be No. 6, the same number Musial wears during his 22 seasons with the Cardinals.

The Blues’ tribute to Musial comes 11 months after the Montreal Canadiens do the same for Gary Carter, the Expos’ longtime catcher and Hall of Fame who passes away in 2012.

Alas for the Canadiens, they end up losing their game 3-1 to the New Jersey Devils.
