Quote of the day: Sparky Anderson on Brooks Robinson

Cincinnati Reds manager Sparky Anderson after watching Baltimore Orioles third baseman Brooks Robinson single-handedly win the 1970 World Series with his glove:

“I don’t see how anybody could do what this guy does. If I dropped my sandwich, he would dart in, scoop it up on one hop and throw me out. … He could throw his glove out there, and it would start 10 double plays.”
